Photo of stone cottages in charming village of East Dean, taken 1995. Some family were wheelwrights while others smugglers, which makes for a very interesting story. The beautiful daffodils lining the road to village green and those growing wild, all around churchyard, were magnificent.

The researcher must be aware that some names are Redman, while some may well be Redmond, as name was written just as it sounded across counter to registrar, of another coutry, at the time.

During a visit to East Wittering we found the Cyril Redman family, three generations descended from Edward. We had a great session about the Redman family, before visiting the graveyard nearby. The very kindly Mrs.Gentle, a Redman descendant gave us morning tea while talking about the family. We talked a lot about the Coastguard and family had an original historic windmill in their backyard. They were able to tell s ome stories of Mant family, one of whom married a Redman.

IF WE DID ALL WE WERE CAPABLE OF

WE WOULD ASTOUND OURSELVES.
